Bobrisky Spends Night In FCID Female Cell Following Arrest Aat Seme Border
Everybody is conscious of the fact that Bobrisky could be gay and nobody wants to be part of a scandal.
Ikeja, Lagos— A Nigerian controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, spent Monday night in a female cell at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos State.
The arrest occurred at the Seme Border, with Bobrisky subsequently brought to the facility around 10 p.m.
Punch reports that sources indicate that Okuneye was placed in the female section due to his lifestyle and the unique circumstances surrounding his detention.
According to the sources, there were no other female detainees at the time, allowing Bobrisky to be housed separately.
“We have a lot of cells in Alagbon,” the source stated, “and when you are handling a case like this, you have to ensure the safety and security of the person detained.”
Concerns about a possible scandal influenced the decision to isolate Bobrisky, as putting him with male detainees was deemed a risk, and there were no female inmates to share a cell with him. As a result, Bobrisky was given a solitary cell near the female section of the facility.
Confirming the situation, the FCID spokesperson in Lagos, Mayegun Aminat, said on Tuesday, “He is detained at the FCID, Alagbon. He is with us, and we are seeking a remand order to continue holding him in custody.”
“We have a lot of cells in Alagbon; and when you are having a case like that, you have to look for the right place to guarantee the safety and security of the person being detained.
“Everybody is conscious of the fact that Bobrisky could be gay and nobody wants to be part of a scandal. If you put him among males, anything can happen and you cannot put him among females. So, they gave him a cell alone and the cell is around the female section and they didn’t have any female inmate around that cell.”
