Afritel Multimedia Limited Trains Journalists On Good Governance, Field Investigation

Afritel Multimedia Limited, owners of Albarka FM has trained Journalists in Kwara State on how to ensure Good Governance and Accountability.
At the three-day training, facilitators
took participants on how to conduct investigations for Good Governance and Probity.
The participants, who were divided into two groups, visited some of the abandoned constituency projects in Kwara State and proffer solutions on how to complete them.
The abandoned projects visited include a skill Acquisition Centre; a constituency project facilitated by the former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, and the General Tunde Idiagbon Bridge under construction.
Findings from the investigations by the two groups were presented in the course of the training the following day and reactions to them were discussed with the facilitators.
Speaking after the training, the General Manager of Albarka FM, said the Collaborative Media Project is geared towards ensuring active participation from every beneficiary of the training.
Also speaking, a participant in the training, Mr. Lawrence Afolabi, said the training exposed participants to things that contribute to the development and it gives everyone a sense of awakening towards good governance and accountability.
Another participant, Mrs. Adeniyi Bukola commended the effort of the organizers and facilitators of the training and urged journalists to focus more on reports that put authorities on their toes.
On the last day of the seminar, the two groups collapsed and formed a coalition named ‘Kwara Media Action for Good Governance with the following people, Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed of Afrika Eyes as Chairman, Ayo-Oluwa Jaiyeola of Ofm as Vice-chairman, Lawrence Afolabi of Harmony FM as Assistant Treasurer, Babatunde Omonike of Royal FM as Secretary, Mosunmola Ajibade of Shopen as assistant secretary, Adeniyi Bukola of Albarka FM as Treasurer, Gbadeyan Kunle of KWTV as Public Relations Officer and Akeem Olatidoye of Herald Newspaper as Ex-officio.
