BREAKING: Nigerian Police Declares British National Wanted Over Alleged Plot Against Tinubu Government

Authorities have gathered evidence and confessions linking Wynne to directing and financing the August protest.

Abuja, Nigeria The Nigerian Police Force has declared a British national Andrew Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, wanted for allegedly orchestrating a plot to overthrow President Bola Tinubu’s democratically elected government.

Police spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this known during a press conference in Abuja on Monday at the Force headquarters.

According to Adejobi, Wynne is suspected of leading a plot to destabilize Nigeria and effect an unconstitutional regime change.

He said Wynne reportedly rented a space at Labour House in Abuja, where he established an “Iva Valley Bookshop” and “STARS of Nations Schools” as fronts for his activities.

Adejobi stated that authorities have gathered evidence and confessions linking Wynne to directing and financing the August protest, as well as providing operational support for his aims.

“The Nigeria Police Force is conducting a thorough investigation into the activities of this foreign national and other subversive elements intent on undermining our democratic institutions,” Adejobi said.

He noted that initial findings indicate the suspects planned and funded violent protests, spread misinformation, and engaged in unlawful activities to incite chaos and support their agenda.

“Nine suspects, reportedly funded by foreign sources to destabilize Nigeria, have been apprehended. This follows the Department of State Services (DSS) arresting Polish nationals in Kano during the protests; they were later released after several weeks in detention.”
