FG Approves Increased Fees For Nigerian Passport Starting September 2024
The fee for a 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity, previously set at Thirty-Five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00), will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00).
Abuja, Nigeria– The Federal Government has announced an upward revision in the fees for Nigerian passports, effective September 1, 2024.
The decision, disclosed by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) spokesman, DCI Kenneth Udo, said the increment aims to support the maintenance of the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.
Udo said the adjustment in fees is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that the passport continues to meet international standards and remain secure.
“Following the review, the fee for a 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity, previously set at Thirty-Five Thousand Naira (N35,000.00), will now be Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00). Similarly, the cost for a 64-page passport booklet with a 10-year validity, which was Seventy Thousand Naira (N70,000.00), will increase to One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000.00).
“However, fees for passports issued in the Diaspora will remain unchanged,” he said.
