Personal Assistant Confesses To Murder Of Ondo State Caterer, Days After Her Birthday
It has been reported that the late caterer’s driver, who is currently at large, supplied the weapon used in the crime.
Akure, Ondo State- The personal assistant to popular Ondo State caterer, Debbie Olakunbi Adene, has reportedly confessed that he, along with her driver, killed the businesswoman just five days after her birthday.
It would be recalled that the 54-year-old woman was brutally murdered in her home on Oda Road, Akure, the state capital, on Sunday, July 28, 2024. Mrs Adene was found dead in her bed by neighbors, who promptly alerted the caretaker of the house.
According to the Vanguard, the police have arrested Mrs Adene’s personal assistant, whose name has not been released. The PA is suspected of committing the murder to steal money given to Mrs Adene during her birthday celebration.
The victim, a mother of two, had hosted guests at her home, serving various wines and drinks before sharing photos of the event on social media.
Her husband, Dele Adene, expressed frustration over the delay in the investigation and questioned why no arrests had been made.
“I was informed that my wife’s body was discovered in a pool of blood on her bed, showing she was hacked to death,” Mr Adene said.
“I cannot believe that no arrests have been made yet. The suspects should have been apprehended by now. Her phone should be tracked. I am also puzzled as to how other residents in the building did not notice anything.”
A police detective confirmed the arrest of the PA and noted that the suspect has provided valuable information about the circumstances of the murder.
However, it has been reported that the late caterer’s driver, who is currently at large, supplied the weapon used in the crime.
