AKNG Calls For Kwara North Power Shift In 2027, Urges AbdulRazaq, APC Support

Ilorin, Kwara State– The Advocates for Kwara North Governance (AKNG) has urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and other prominent stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to endorse the much-anticipated power shift to Kwara North in the 2027 governorship election.

The AKNG, represented by its coordinator, Mallam Ibrahim Adamu, who is a prominent APC youth, in a  statement on Friday,  plea for the rotation of power in the forthcoming election.

According to him, AKNG assertion is grounded in the belief that Kwara North, a region consisting of five local government areas – Baruten, Edu, Kaiama, Moro, and Patigi, has endured marginalization and neglect in the state’s political landscape since the advent of democracy in 1999.

Mr Adamu further stated that Kwara North deserves a fair chance to produce the next governor of the state in 2027, in line with the spirit of justice, equity and inclusiveness.

However, the  group urged Governor AbdulRazaq and other APC stakeholders to respect the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kwara North and support their quest for power shift in 2027.

The group also appealed to the people of Kwara North to unite and speak with one voice on the issue of power shift, and to resist any attempt to divide or distract them from their goal.

AKNG expressed its confidence that Kwara North has capable and competent sons and daughters who can govern the state effectively and efficiently, and bring development and prosperity to all parts of the state.

They commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his exemplary leadership and performance in delivering his promises to the people of Kwara State.

Mr Adamu said Governor AbdulRazaq has shown that APC is the only trusted party that can transform the state for the better.

He said that the group pledged its loyalty and support to Governor AbdulRazaq and APC in their efforts to move Kwara State forward.
