Tension In Delta As Gunmen Behead Monarch Over ‘Oil Derivation Sharing Formula’
The monarch was killed at the point of argument between his community and an adjoining community
The traditional ruler of the Asamokwu community, in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State, Obi Okwudiki Odumodu, was beheaded following a dispute over sharing formula of a derivation fund.
It was also gathered that the incident has resulted in tension in the community.
The spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday, February 10, in Asaba.
Mr Edafe said that the monarch was beheaded on Thursday during a crisis that erupted between his community and an adjoining village over the sharing formula of a derivation fund from an oil company situated in their environment.
According to him, It was a community crisis they are dragging allocation that came from one of the oil companies in that area.

Mr Edafe said that efforts are ongoing to restore normalcy in the community, adding that no suspects have been arrested.
