Gov AbdulRazaq Extols AGF Fagbemi SAN’s Community Service 

As a government, we acknowledge that the Honourable Minister has always been there for us

Ilorin, Kwara State– Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Friday led a state delegation comprising National and State parliamentarians and cabinet members to a special prayer for the new Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN).

Hosted by the Fagbemis, the prayer ceremony unfolded at the residence of the esteemed legal figure, where he was accompanied by his wife, Alhaja Fatima Fagbemi, along with their children and extended family members.

On the Governor’s entourage were the Deputy Senate Leader Sen. Lola Ashiru (Kwara South); Sadiq Umar (North); Turaki Ilorin Sen. Saliu Mustapha (Central); House of Representatives member Hon. Raheem Tunji Ajulo-opin; House of Assembly member Hon. Rasaq Owolabi; and Commissioner for Women Affairs Hon. Bosede Olaitan Buraimoh; top APC chieftains; among others.

Royalties were led by the Olofa of Offa Oba Muftau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II; the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo Oba Ismail Yahaya Alebiosu; the Onijagbo of Ijagbo Oba Sarafadeen Buhari Adeniyi; the Olojoku of Ojoku Abdulrasaq Afolabi; the Onira of Ira AbdulWahab Oyetoro; and the Olukotun of Ikotun AbdulRazaq Adebayo Abioye.

The prayer was led by the Chief Imams of Offa and Ijagbo Sheikh Muyideen Salman Hussain and Sheikh Muftau.

In his brief remarks at the event, AbdulRazaq described Prince Fagbemi as a successful legal luminary and a pride of Kwara, who is renowned for his community service and philanthropy.

He commended the Minister for his good character and encouraged him to sustain his selfless services to the growth of his state and the country at large.

“I want you to continue the good you have been doing, especially your commitment and love for community development and the country at large. When you built a facility in a community school recently, you didn’t do it because of any position. You did it out of your passion for community development,” the Governor said.

“As a government, we acknowledge that the Honourable Minister has always been there for us even before his appointment, and I want him to sustain the same and even do more. I wish him success in the tasks ahead.”

Fagbemi, for his part, thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy to serve in that capacity and pledged not to let him and Nigerians down.

He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the President and to trust his capacity to reform the economy for sustainable growth.

The Minister acknowledged the leading role and support of the Governor that culminated into his successful pick, particularly during his screening at the Red Chamber.

He also thanked the Senate, including the Kwara legislators, for the support accorded him at his screening.
