Kwara Born Ambali Adebayo Takes Senior Legislative Role With Deputy Senate President

Senator Mustapha, representing Kwara Central in the Senate, played a key role in facilitating Adebayo’s appointment

Abuja, Nigeria– Senator Barau Jibrin, the Deputy Senate President, has appointed  Ambali Adebayo from Kwara as his senior legislative aide.

The appointment of Adebayo was communicated in a letter dated November 15, endorsed by the National Assembly Secretary, Birma Maina.

“Your appointment is at the pleasure of the Deputy President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria,” the appointment letter read.

Earlier to his recent appointment, Adebayo, a grassroots politician from Ilorin West Local Government Area, served as the Director General of the Saliu Mustapha Foundation, a non-profit organization chaired by Senator Saliu Mustapha.

Sources familiar with the situation indicate that Senator Mustapha, representing Kwara Central in the Senate, played a key role in facilitating Adebayo’s appointment.

Mustapha is entitled to four statutory aides for his tenure at the National Assembly.

It would be recalled that the lawmaker had, shortly after his election, appointed self-funded legislative aides across the 52 wards in his district.

During a recent meeting with the newly appointed aides, he told them that the essence of their appointments is to enhance his performance as a senator and also keep the flag of the All Progressive Congress (APC) flying under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
