BREAKING: Court Of Appeal Sacks Kano Governor ‘Abba Yusuf’

Yusuf rejected the tribunal’s decision, deeming it “unfair” and a “miscarriage of justice

Abuja, Nigeria- The Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday, upheld the earlier ruling by the State Election Petitions Tribunal, which had on September 20, 2023, nullified the election of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State.

The panel of Justices at the apex court, led by Justice Oluyemi Akintan Osadebay, deliberated on the case extensively before reaching the decision to dismiss Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). The court declared Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful winner of the March 18 governorship election in Kano State.
