Ogun Police Arrest Two Suspects For Allegedly Stealing Cement Truck

The two suspects, Lawal and Mohammed, have since confessed to stealing the vehicle from its parked location

Abeokuta, Ogun StateTwo suspects have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command, Mohammed Ndatotu and Lawal, for allegedly stealing a truck owned by a cement company.

The arrests were made in response to a report filed by the truck’s driver, who claimed that the vehicle was stolen while his two motorboys were inside.

In a statement released by the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Omolola Odutola, said the driver of the stolen truck reported the theft to the authorities, prompting a swift investigation by law enforcement.

“In response to an incident involving a suspected stolen vehicle and subsequent arrest of the culprits, a truck driver attached to the cement company in Ibese reported that his truck, with number plate KPF 237 XA – was stolen while he left his two motor boys, Mohammed Lawal “m” and ISMAIL, surname unknown inside the vehicle,”

“Upon returning to the parking area on October 29, 2023, the driver discovered that his truck had been taken to an unknown location, and the two motor boys had absconded.

“However, it is worth noting that one Lawal and Mohammed Ndatotu were later tracked and apprehended at Ogbere by the Ogere Divisional Police officer,”

The image maker disclosed that following the arrest of the two suspects, they confessed to stealing the vehicle.

“The two suspects, Lawal and Mohammed, have since confessed to stealing the vehicle from its parked location. The police have commenced investigating the matter further and taking necessary actions in accordance with the law.

“It is reassuring to know that diligent efforts are being made to uncover any additional information related to this incident and to bring any other involved parties to justice.

“Recovering the truck is a priority for the Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Mustapha, who is calling on collaboration with concerned citizens to volunteer information to locate the missing truck,” she concluded.
