Governor Abba Expresses Gratitude As Kano Conjoined Twins Depart For Surgery In Saudi Arabia

Kano State– Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, On Tuesday morning, bid farewell to the parents of conjoined twin babies at the Aminu Kano International Airport as they embarked on a surgical separation mission in Saudi Arabia.

This is contained in the statement released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday,  October 31, 2023, The surgical procedure is being sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of King Salman Bin Abdul’aziz.

Governor Yusuf expressed his deep appreciation for the humanitarian gesture extended by King Salman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He described this act as a God-rewarding venture and one that sets an exemplary precedent for others to follow.

The governor offered his prayers for the continued strengthening of the enduring relationship between Kano and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to revitalizing the state’s healthcare sector.

Governor Yusuf recalled the recent visit by Saudi Arabian doctors to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, where they provided free treatment for patients suffering from heart ailments and eye problems.

He extended his heartfelt prayers for the conjoined twin babies, hoping for a successful surgical separation that will enable them to lead independent lives as two separate individuals.

The Saudi Consul General in Kano, Shiekh Khalil Al’adamawi, highlighted the Saudi Arabian commitment to humanitarian causes and the dedication to helping those in need.

He emphasized that such initiatives are extended to the needy regardless of nationality or background, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia consistently plays a leading role in providing international humanitarian aid.

Shiekh Khalil Al’adamawi also assured that the parents of the conjoined twins would be accommodated in Riyadh, and a support system would be provided to ensure their maximum comfort and assistance throughout the surgical journey.

The father of the conjoined twins, Malam Hassan Isa Kano, expressed deep gratitude on behalf of his family to King Salman Bin Abdulaziz for sponsoring the surgical operations of the twins, Hassana and Husaina.

He offered prayers for Allah to reward the king and his kingdom with jannatul Firdausi, the highest paradise in Islamic belief.

He also commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his love and concern, as well as for taking the time to bid them farewell at the airport. This heartwarming initiative exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and goodwill in addressing critical healthcare needs.
