Bandits Attack Zamfara Community, Kill Three

Gusau, Zamfara State – A group of bandits have attacked the Nasarawa area in Maru town, the headquarters of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
It was gathered that the gunmen stormed the area in the early hours of Friday, leaving residents in a state of fear and panic as they shot sporadically to intimidate the local population.
According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants arrived in Maru Local Government in the dark hours of the morning, descending upon the peaceful town in large numbers and heavily armed.
He said that the Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji responded swiftly to a distress call and engaged the terrorists in a heavy gun duel that lasted for over two hours.
Observing that there was no official confirmation regarding the abduction of any residents during the attack, he reported that three persons lost their lives, one of whom was an elderly man named Mallam Isah.
“As of now, we don’t know if they kidnapped anybody but I can confirm to you that three persons have been shot dead,” the source said.
