Adamawa Police Arrest Six Suspected Kidnappers

The suspects demanded a ransom of N5m from the victim’s father.

Yola, Adamawa State– The Adamawa State Police Command have arrested six suspected kidnappers who posed as customers and abducted a 9-year-old boy in Mubi South Local Government Area of the state.

According to the spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the suspects were arrested on Monday, October 23, 2023, following their involvement in the kidnapping case.

The suspects, who had posed as ordinary customers, snatched the young boy and later demanded a ransom of N5 million from the victim’s father.

“The Adamawa Police Command has on 19/10/2023 arrested six suspected kidnappers for allegedly kidnapping a 9-year-old boy and demanding N5 million ransom in Mubi-South Local Government Area of the state.”

The suspects, Abubakar Mohammed, 23 year-old, Auwal Usman 21-year-old, Mohammed Abubakar 37-year-old, Umar Mohammed 20 years, Abdulhameed Musa,19-years old and Muhammad Nasir, 20-year-old, all residents of Maiha Road and Kaba Ward in Mubi-South/North LGAs, were arrested after they kidnapped Mustapha Ibrahim on 18/10/2023 at about 1800hrs.”

“The suspects were arrested following the complaint received by the father of the victim on Oct. 19th October, 2023 that some unknown faces came to his house around 1800hrs with pretence to buy Zobo Juice and lured out his 9 year old boy.

“The Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola while expressing happiness, commended DPO Mubi South and his men for rescuing the child and denying the criminals the opportunity of escaping arrest.

The CP assured of Diligent prosecution of the suspects.
