CBN Appoints Abdulmumin As New spokesman

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has appointed Isa Abdulmumin as the Acting Director of Corporate Communications Department of the apex bank.

Abdulmumin’s appointment followed the retirement of Osita Nwanisobi as the Director.

Abdulmumin, who is a deputy director has been in the Corporate Communications Department of the CBN since he joined the apex bank.

Nwanisobi took over from Isaac Okorafor in 2020 and before then he was a special assistant to the Deputy Governor Financial System Stability (FSS) between 2009 and 2011.

The Central Bank of Nigeria is the central bank and apex monetary authority of Nigeria established by the CBN Act of 1958 and commenced operations on 1 July 1959.

The major regulatory objectives of the bank as stated in the CBN Act are to: maintain the external reserves of the country, promote monetary stability and a sound financial environment, and act as a banker of last resort and financial adviser to the federal government.
