Governor AbdulRazaq Appoints New SSAs, Pilgrims’ Board

A 26-year-old leader in the youth constituency, has been appointed

Ilorin, Kwara State– Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Friday appointed fresh faces into his administration and reassigned roles to experienced individuals.

In a statement released by Rafiu Ajakaye, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the changes reflect the government’s commitment to improving various sectors within the state.

Among the notable appointments is the return of Eyiwuni Muka Aramide, known as Muka Ray, who will resume his role as Senior Special Assistant on Culture and Tourism.

Muka Ray’s reappointment is in recognition of his outstanding contributions and resourcefulness in his previous role.

Imam Mariam Nnafatima has been appointed as the Senior Special Assistant on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), indicating the government’s renewed focus on issues related to human capital development.

Nnafatima, a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Edu, holds impressive academic qualifications, including a Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the University of East London and another degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Cleveland State University Ohio.

Before her appointment, Nnafatima served as the Special Assistant to the Governor on Mobilization, bringing years of experience in women and child care and community development advocacy. She is also involved in various community initiatives and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree.

Hajia Aishat Yusuf has been reappointed as Senior Special Assistant Herdsmen Community Outreach, a testament to the confidence the Governor has in her abilities based on her previous performance.

Salami Wasiu Onidugbe, a 26-year-old leader in the youth constituency, has been appointed as the new Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Affairs. Onidugbe, with a degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Ilorin, has been actively involved in student leadership, including serving as the chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Kwara State axis.

Governor AbdulRazaq has also reconstituted the Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Board, appointing Professor Mashood Mahmood Jimba as the new chairman of the board. Professor Jimba, who previously chaired the Kwara State Arabic Education Board, is an alumnus of Azhar University Cairo and teaches at the Kwara State University Malete.

Other members of the board include Hajia Fatimah Hassanah, Hajia Khadijat Abutawwiy, Dr. Abubakar Agbaje, Mrs. Abibat Otuyo, and Mallam Musa Haruna Farikebe.

Also, the Governor has reappointed Professor Timothy Opoola as the chairman of the Kwara State Christian Pilgrims’ Welfare Board.

Prof Opoola, a prominent Christian leader, will be supported by a team that includes Babatunde Alade, Kolo Philips, Bamigbola Idowu, Opeyemi Stephen, Oluwatoyin Opawoye, and Pastor Oladipupo Emmanuel.
