Kwara State Police: No Information On Alleged Gunmen In Police Uniform Attack

Ilorin, Kwara State – The Kwara State Police Command on Thursday stated that the recent allegations of an attack by gunmen in police uniform on a citizen, during which an unspecified amount of money was reportedly stolen, neither the victim nor anyone with an iota of information has released such to the Police.
In a statement released by the command spokesperson, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said the command expressed sympathy for the supposed victim and emphasized its commitment to maintaining security in the State.
According to reports circulating on various newspapers and social media platforms, a man fell victim to a terrifying ordeal involving three unidentified individuals donning police uniforms.
“The perpetrators allegedly made away with a significant sum of money during the incident. However, as of the time of the statement, neither the victim nor any individuals with relevant information have come forward to report the incident to the police.
“The Kwara State Police Command stressed the significance of promptly reporting such incidents to the authorities, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the community and law enforcement agencies in maintaining safety and security.
Mr Ajayi said the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State, CP Victor Olaiya psc (+), has ordered a discreet investigation into the allegations.
The police aim to determine the veracity of the claims and, if confirmed, ensure that justice is served. They are actively piecing together any available information to uncover the circumstances surrounding this incident.
