17-Year-Old Student Commits Suicide In Benue
Details of the incident remain sketchy, leaving the community in a state of shock
A 17-year-old secondary school student, Terhemba Tyochivir, reportedly committed suicide on Thursday, in Akpehe, a suburb of Makurdi metropolis in Benue State.
Tyochivir, a student of Government Secondary School, Gboko, was discovered lifeless by witnesses and was promptly rushed to Bishop Murray Hospital Makurdi, where medical professionals at the hospital pronounced him dead.
SP. Catherine Anene, the spokeswoman for the State Police Command, confirmed the incident to journalists on Friday, stated that the matter had been reported at the E Division Police Station in Makurdi.
However, she noted that details of the incident remain sketchy, leaving the community in a state of shock and mourning.
