Yinka Aluko Hosts 3rd Ramadan Annual Lecture, Urges Muslims To Uphold Tenets Of Islam
Islam does not encourage bad parenting.
Ilorin, Kwara State– The Federal Lawmaker representing the East/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Ahmed Yinka Aluko PhD, hosted the 3rd annual Ramadan Lecture.
The events were held at his family house, Ikokoro, Isale Aluko, Ilorin, the state capital, on Saturday, April 6, 2024.
The guest speaker for the event, Fadilah Sheikh Ibrahim Musa Gbodofu, addressed the audience on the topic “Dealing With the Economic Crisis Within Ourselves.”
He urged Muslim believers to embrace self-contentment amidst the prevailing economic conditions.
The Islamic Cleric lamented the rate at which Muslim youth indiscriminately engage in online betting, securing loans from online banks with dubious intents and other illicit acts for pecuniary gains.
According to him, “one of the factors contributing to poor economic status in the country, is indiscriminate procreation without proper parenting and planning, stating that Muslims abuse Prophet Mohammed’s Hadith that enjoins Muslims to procreate in a multitude so that he would be proud of them on the day of judgement.
He therefore said that Islam does not encourage bad parenting.
Sheikh Gbodofu said Muslims should endeavour to live within their earnings in order not to worsen the current economic hardship.
He further tasked the gathering to strive to achieve an economic breakthrough, stressing that the Almighty would not overturn the condition of His servants unless they stopped following His commands.
Speaking with the journalists during the event, Aluko reiterated that the annual Ramadan lecture aimed to cleanse the minds of Muslim believers and foster a closer connection with their creator during and after the holy month.
Akiko, who also doubles as the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on Privatization and Commercialization, said the motivation behind the lecture during the Holy month of Ramadan is to reawaken our faith and beliefs in Almighty Allah and to hold onto the fact that only God can do everything successfully without mistakes.
He, however, urges people to direct their reliance on Almighty Allah, as He is the one who can do everything for His servants.
