Operatives of the Rivers State vigilante service have arrested a 32-year-old suspected criminal over a robbery attempt at Diobu in Mile One axis of Port Harcourt the state capital.

The suspects, identified as Godspower Friday, were caught in the wee hours of Monday in possession of a locally made pistol, machete and facemask.

Comrade Godstime Ihunwo, Assistant Secretary of Diobu Vigilante who is also the Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu-Oroworukwo confirmed the arrest to journalists.

He said, “At the early hours of Today Monday 24th October 2022 by 2:30 am a 32 -year- old suspected criminal known as Godspower Friday who hails from Bayelsa state but resides around Motor spare parts Market, Diobu Port Harcourt was arrested by me and my men while on patrol along IKwerre road/Wobo junction.

“He was found with a locally made pistol, machete, two button phones and a facemask which he uses to carry out his criminal activities in Oroworukwo Port Harcourt and he has been handed over to Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters Mile 3 Diobu”.

When contacted, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident but said she will give more updates soon.
