Two persons have been confirmed dead after an explosive suspected to be a bomb went off in Keffi Metropolis, the headquarters of Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State on Sunday, May 28.
The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, opposite General Hospital along Nasarawa Road, Keffi.
It was gathered that the suspected bomb went off from a residential apartment in the area, rented by two occupants, killing both of them in the process.
It was learnt that residents of Keffi town trooped out in their thousands to catch a glimpse of the scene of the two-bedroom residential apartment, which was affected by the explosion.
Two male occupants of the rented apartment in the area were killed in the explosion. It was also alleged that the victims who are reportedly on DSS wanted list, returned to Keffi from their journey on Saturday afternoon.
Eyewitnesses said that the victims noticed that the DSS operatives had surrounded their house, hence, they had no option rather than to blow off themselves with an explosive. Security operatives were at the scene of the incident to evacuate the dead bodies.
