Troops Eliminate Four Terrorists In Multiple Operations, Repel Kidnap Attempt
The troops also foiled a kidnap attempt on the Headmaster of a primary school in Plateau State.
Abuja, Nigeria– Troops of the Nigerian Army have executed ambush and raid operations in Kaduna and Katsina States and eliminated four notorious terrorists.
Director Army Public Relations, Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, who disclosed this in a statement on Saturday, March 16, said the troops also foiled a kidnap attempt on the Headmaster of a primary school in Plateau State.
“Responding to credible intelligence, on the use of Gwamtu – Duduwa- Kujeni route in Kajuru Local Government of Kaduna State for movement of logistics to support terrorists in Rijana forest, troops on March 15, staged an ambush against the terrorists, eliminating 2 of them,” the statement read.
“In the operation, the valiant troops recovered 2 AK 47 Rifles, 2 AK 47 Magazines , 4 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) and PKGM link belt. Other items recovered include one recoiling spring, 2 motorbikes, camouflage jungle hat, packs of tobacco and fetish amulets.
In a similar development, troops acting on actionable intelligence successfully raided a terrorists’ hideout at Dutsen Kura in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, where the gallant troops neutralized 2 terrorists, after a fierce exchange of fire.
“Items recovered from the terrorists’ den include one 81mm Mortal bomb, 3 Baofeng Radios, one empty PKT Gun ammunition box/links, 4 Bandoliers , 2 motorbikes , 4 pairs of military woodland camouflage and one ballistic helmet.
“In another operation in Plateau State, troops responding to a distress call have swiftly repelled a kidnap attempt on one Mr Solomon Zakka, the Headmaster of Pilot Primary School, Daffo, who was kidnapped from his residence at Maiduna Village in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau. On being alerted, the vigilant troops pursued and engaged the kidnappers in a firefight, forcing them to relinquish their abductee.
“The Nigerian Army remains highly appreciative of the support and cooperation of the public. We urge all well meaning Nigerians not to relent, but to continue to collaborate with the Nigerian Army in the ongoing operations across the country.”
