Tinubu Reassures Nigerians: There Will Be No Fuel Price Hike

The midstream and downstream petroleum sectors, aiming to sustain current prices

President Bola Tinubu, speaking on Tuesday, gave his assurance to Nigerians that there would be no hike in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, anywhere in the country.

Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, emphasized that the market has been deregulated and will continue to remain so.

He stressed that the government is committed to addressing inefficiencies in the midstream and downstream petroleum sectors, aiming to sustain current prices without needing to revert to a policy reversal in the petroleum industry.

This is coming under 24 hours following the clarification from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited that there are no plans to raise the pump price of petrol.
