Maiduguri, Borno State– Terrorists belongs to the  members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) have attacked two local fishermen and chopped off their hands over a dispute of two cartons of fish.

It was gathered that the incident  happened at Marte Local Government Area of the state.

A sourced stated that the fishermen were part of a larger group engaged in fishing activities under the control of ISWAP. They are usually subjected to levies and taxes.

“They incurred the wrath of the terrorists yesterday, January 10, after it was discovered that “they failed to pay their taxes.”

“This resulted in the confiscation of their eight cartons of fish by the terrorists. After loading the fish onto their canoe, the militants were forced to abandon two cartons due to space constraints.

“Following their arrest, the leader of the militant group ordered that the men’s hands be cut off. They said it was by Sharia law.”
