Lokoja, Kogi State– Terrorists on Sunday attacked a commercial bus along the Kabba–Okene route, injuring several passengers and kidnapping many others in Kogi State.
One of the passengers, identified as Ayodele Aduroshakin, managed to escape and recounted his harrowing experience.
According to Aduroshakin, the gunmen ambushed the vehicle, firing several shots at it before using machetes to break through the doors.
“This is how we were kidnapped,” he said. “I was seated here when they shot at the vehicle door, but the bullets did not penetrate. They then used their cutlasses to destroy the door. Look at the blood stains inside the car.”
He added that the attackers, whom he described as Fulani men, opened fire on the driver before forcing passengers into the bush.
“They shot at our driver and dragged everyone out. They took us into the bush. One of them was wearing military camouflage, and all of them were Fulani. As we were going, I managed to run away,” Aduroshakin narrated.
However, the number of abducted passengers remains unknown as of the time of filing this report. Security operatives have yet to release an official statement on the attack.
