Terrorists Ambush Traders Heading To Ebu Market Day In Kwara, Several Feared Kidnapped
The attackers intercepted a convoy of traders heading from Koro in Kwara State to Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Ilorin, Kwara State– Terrorists early Monday morning launched an attack on traders travelling for the popular Ebu Market Day in Koro, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, leaving several persons feared kidnapped.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the armed men struck on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, along the Koro–Egbe route, a corridor frequently used by local traders moving between Kwara and neighbouring Kogi State.
According to community sources, the attackers intercepted a convoy of traders heading from Koro in Kwara State to Egbe in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, stopping their vehicles before whisking away an unspecified number of passengers into the surrounding forest.
It was gathered that the assault was swift and coordinated, leaving residents in shock and heightening fear across the region already battling repeated incursions by armed groups.
As of press time, th exact number of kidnapped traders remains unconfirmed, and authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident.
The attack adds to growing concerns over security along interstate rural corridors in North-Central Nigeria, where bandits and terrorist groups have increasingly targeted farmers, traders, and commuters.
