Sowore Emerges AAC Consensus Presidential Candidate For 2023

All the delegates from all 774 local governments have through a voice voting in line with electoral laws and unanimously affirmed Mr Sowore as the party’s presidential candidate.

The Publisher of Sahara Reporters and Human Right Activist, Omoyele Sowore, has emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2023 general election, on Thursday, in Abuja.

It would be recalled that Mr Sowore was the party’s candidate of the party in 2019.

All the delegates from all 774 local governments have through a voice voting in line with electoral laws and unanimously affirmed Mr Sowore as the party’s presidential candidate.

Though, Mr Sowore Before his emergence at the convention announced his decision to step down as the National Chairman of the party.

In his declaration, Mr Sowore said, “The time for total freedom is now,”

Today’s victory confirms Mr Sowore’s second participation in the Nigerian presidential elections.

Recalled in 2019, Mr Sowore garnered 33,953 votes at the polls, over opponents like Fela Durotoye of the Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) and Kingsley Moghalu of the Young Democratic Party (YPP).
