Sarkin Gobir Commends Emir Of Ilorin For Leading Reconstruction Of Ultramodern Imam Gambari Mosque

Ilorin,Kwara State– The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, for his visionary leadership and commitment to spiritual development as the newly reconstructed Ultramodern Imam Gambari Mosque is set for commissioning.
The Ultramodern Imam Gambari Mosque will be officially commissioned on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
The newly rebuilt Imam Gambari Mosque, featuring state-of-the-art facilities, seamlessly combines contemporary architectural design with the traditional artistry and heritage that define Ilorin’s Islamic identity.
Speaking in Ilorin, Alhaji Gobir lauded the Emir’s dedication to preserving the Emirate’s cultural and religious legacy while promoting modern infrastructure.
“The reconstruction of the Imam Gambari Mosque is more than just a building project; it is a testament to His Royal Highness’s dedication to preserving our heritage while embracing modernity,” said Alhaji Gobir.
“This iconic mosque, a symbol of our rich Islamic history, has been transformed into a magnificent edifice that will serve as a beacon of faith and community for generations to come.”
The Imam Gambari Mosque holds deep historical and spiritual significance for the Ilorin people. Its transformation reflects a careful balance between preserving religious heritage and providing a dignified, comfortable place of worship for the growing Muslim community.
Gobir further emphasised that the mosque’s reconstruction contributes to the broader socio-economic renewal of Ilorin, aligning with the Emir’s vision and the developmental agenda of the Kwara State Government.
“These developments, initiated and supported by our respected Emir, and also our Governor, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, are integral to the Ilorin Renaissance movement, which seeks to elevate our Emirate across all spheres of life,” he stated.
Expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for witnessing the project’s completion, Gobir described the edifice as “a symbol of faith, resilience, and unity for the Ilorin community.”
He also praised Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration for its sustained investment in legacy projects across the state.
Meanwhile, Tmthe commissioning ceremony is expected to attract religious leaders, traditional rulers, government officials, Islamic scholars, and members of the Ilorin community.
The event will also hfeature special prayers, Qur’anic recitations, and goodwill messages.
