Pregnant Woman Kidnapped Found Dead In Zamfara

The lifeless body of Naja’atu was found bearing numerous cuts and injuries

Mrs. Naja’atu Abdullahi Umar, a  pregnant woman was found dead three days after reportedly being abducted in the Tsafe Local Government area of Zamfara State.

Yahaya Maimagani, her husband, declared her missing on Thursday, September 7, 2023, when she left home to get her hair braided in Tsafe town, she was later found deceased.

According to a family source who confirmed the incident said her body was discovered discarded in a field near the College of Health Science and Technology in Tsafe on Sunday, September 10.

“It was eventually suspected that she might have been kidnapped because, on that fateful day, there was a kidnapping incident in their vicinity, situated on the outskirts of the town behind the College of Health Technology, Tsafe. In hope of a call from her abductors, her husband and relatives decided to wait, but no contact was made as of early this morning,” the source explained.

“Suddenly this afternoon, a woman passing by around the area sensed an irritating smell. When she checked, she discovered a dead human body! She quickly ran and alerted the people around the area,”

“Ultimately, the lifeless body of Naja’atu was found bearing numerous cuts and injuries. It is especially heartbreaking as she was pregnant, having only been married a few months ago,” the source expressed in lamentation.

The State Police Command’s spokesperson, ASP Yazid Abubakar, has officially confirmed the incident and noted that an investigation is currently underway.
