Police Rescue Abducted Professional Footballer, One Arrested

The suspects arrived in Kano from Maiduguri with the intention of kidnapping the victim, a resident of FCT Abuja, who had come to Kano for a business endeavor.

Kaduna State-  Nigeria Police Force in Kaduna has foiled the kidnapping of professional footballer and automobile businessman Mohammed Goni Jidda, who was initially abducted in Kano.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on July 23, 2024, at a hotel in Kano, where the victim was whisked away by his five abductors. They were heading towards Abuja when they were intercepted by the ever-vigilant police operatives from the Sabin Gari Division in Zaria, who were on routine patrol.

The spokesperson for the command, ASP Masir Hassan, confirmed the arrest and said that the suspects arrived in Kano from Maiduguri with the intention of kidnapping the victim, a resident of FCT Abuja, who had come to Kano for a business endeavor.

“The suspicious sitting posture of the occupants of the vehicle in which the victim was being transported alerted the Police Operatives that something was fishy and they acted swiftly which resulted in the rescue of the victim unhurt and the subsequent arrest of one of the suspects Alfaki Abdullahi.

‘’Equally, the suspects have since contacted the victim’s close associates demanding for a huge sum as ransom before the Police struck. The rescued victim and the arrested suspect will soonest be handed over to the Kano state Police Command where the kidnapping occurred.
