Police Foil Businessman’s Kidnapping, Eliminate Suspect In Adamawa
The five (5) gang men were engaged in a gun duel as a result one is neutralized as others escaped with bullet wounds.
The Adamawa State Police Command’s operatives have foiled the abduction of a businessman in the Gombi Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement, SP Suleiman Yahaya Ngioroje, the spokesperson of the command, reported that police operatives eliminated one of the suspected kidnappers and confiscated a locally-made pistol, three cartridges, a cash sum of two thousand, seven hundred Naira, and various charms.
“On the 6/9/2023, the Command Operatives attached to Gombi Divisional Police Headquarters, in sustained effort with hunters of Sarki Baka Gombi foiled an organized crime to kidnap one Gideon Bitrus, a resident of Jangra Village, Gombi local government area,” the statement read.
“The outcome of these successes follows reliable information received about the organized crime from a good Samaritan. The command upon receiving the information designed a security ring around the target and luckily engaged the suspected kidnappers and prevented them from Committing the crime.
“The five (5) gang men were engaged in a gun duel as a result one is neutralized as others escaped with bullet wounds.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, while commending DPO Gombi, his men and hunters for gallantry performance displayed resulting to crime prevention, also directs them to sustain the tempo as a strategy for crime fighting.”
Mr Babatola urges the public to consistently provide the police with information regarding the whereabouts of criminals and their hideouts, particularly if they come across persons tending to injuries.
The police boss equally assured the Government and good people of Adamawa state, of the sustained effort of the police in protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
