Ahead of the festive season, the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Paul Odama, has imposed adequate security measures in the State.

In a statement signed by SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the Command Spokesperson on Tuesday, said CP Paul Odama, wishes to assure the good people of Kwara State of its readiness to ensure peaceful and enjoyable Christmas celebrations throughout the length and breadth of the state.

The statement reads: “In achieving this fit, the command has imposed some security measures, which include massive deployments of men and materials in and around public utilities and all government’s assets, aggressive motorized and foot patrols, stop and search operations, and continuous raids on black spots.

“In this regard, the command wishes to solicit the cooperation and understanding of all and sundry in making this plan a reality. This could be done by reporting any suspicious movements in and around our environments to the police and giving information to the police at all times.

Mr Odama, while congratulating the Christian faithful in the state, enjoins them to celebrate moderately, as only the living do.

According to him, they could do this by avoiding driving recklessly, obeying all traffic rules and laws, and praying for the sustainability of peace in the state.

He, however, said all assets both men and materials, available to the command have been activated to ensure that these lofty security plans for the celebrations are achieved.
