Police Arrest 3 ‘One Chance’ Thieves In Lagos

The suspects were arrested while attempting to drop off a victim in the Gbagada area of Oshodi-Oke.

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested three suspects believed to be members of a notorious one-chance armed robbery gang operating along Oshodi–Gbagada Expressway, Lagos.

In a statement released by the state Police public relations officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the suspects were arrested while attempting to drop off a victim in the Gbagada area of Oshodi-Oke.

He explained that the suspects had abandoned their operational vehicle, a Suzuki mini bus popularly called ‘korope’ at Gbagada area of Oshodi-Oke along Gbagada–Oshodi Expressway, on April 14, 2023 when RRS operatives accosted them while trying to drop off a victim.

Mr Hundeyin added that investigation revealed that the suspects had earlier hijacked the operational vehicle at gunpoint at Ketu bus stop, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Ojo sometime in February and the incident was reported at Ijanikin Police Divisional Headquarters.

“The suspects, Wale Ajayi ‘m’ aged 24, Abideen Saka ‘m’ aged 26 and Oliseh Sunday aka Bobwhiskey ‘m’ aged 29, who were later arrested at their hideout following weeks of intensive investigation have since been arraigned and remanded.”he stated
