Ibadan, Oyo State– The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, reportedly joined his ancestors at the age of 81.

Oba Balogun ascended the throne on March 11, 2022, spending only two years as the monarch of the ancient Nigerian city.

In a statement on Thursday,  by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju,  confirmed the monarch’s death, saying, “The passing of Oba Dr. Balogun marks the end of an era for Ibadanland, leaving behind a profound void in its rich history and heritage.”
