Officer Arrested For Alleged Assault On Woman In Rivers

She accused them of purportedly assaulting her sister during a stop-and-search operation in the Ada George area of Rivers State

The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has officially stated that they have arrested the police officers who were reportedly involved in the incident where a woman was allegedly struck in Rivers State.

A video that circulated online on Friday, September 1, captured a female voice passionately cursing the police officers. She accused them of purportedly assaulting her sister during a stop-and-search operation in the Ada George area of Rivers State, leading to a visible injury to her sister’s lip, as evident in the video.

Providing an update on Monday, September 4, via its official social media handle, X (formerly Twitter), the police stated:

“We want to inform our esteemed friends that the police officers allegedly involved in the incident from the video have been identified and are now in custody as part of our ongoing investigation. We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough examination of this matter.”
