Port-Harcourt, Rivers State– Former Rivers State Governor, Dr. Peter Odili, has commended Governor Siminalayi Fubara for resisting attempts by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike to dominate the political landscape of the state.

Speaking at a Christmas ballad held in honor of Governor Fubara and his family, Odili praised the governor’s courage in confronting what he described as an “unnecessary political war” aimed at capturing the soul of Rivers State.

“As a family, we decided to host the governor and his family to celebrate his fortitude and sterling leadership qualities,” Odili said.

He acknowledged that Fubara’s leadership had safeguarded the state’s independence from external interference, particularly since the intense political crisis that began over a year ago.

Acknowledging the governor’s efforts, a speaker noted that Fubara had prevented an individual from turning the state into a personal stronghold, restored stability in governance, and uplifted the morale of civil servants and citizens, reminiscent of the state’s past glory.

In response, Governor Fubara attributed the victory to divine intervention, describing God as the ultimate liberator who ensured triumph over political turmoil.
