NSCDC Arrests Fake Soldier For Defrauding Admission Seekers, Abscond Prophet’s Car In Kwara

He was alleged to have also falsely taken a Toyota Picnic car from one Prophet

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara state command has arrested a 42-year-old man, Abdulsalam Ajibola, for impersonation and defrauding admission seekers.

In a statement by the Public relations officer (PRO) of the command, Ayeni Olasunkanmi on Monday, April 3, 2023, said the suspect allegedly defrauded two persons to the tune of about N800,000 by promising to help them get admission into Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna state.

Abdulsalam was alleged to have impersonated a soldier to defraud Abdullahi Saheed of N700,000, and Ropo Gabriel to the tune of N96,000 having promised to help them get admission into NDA.

According to Olasunkanmi, the suspect was tracked down at Oke-Onigbin in the Isin local government area of the state on March 24, 2023, by the tracking unit of the command.

The suspect was alleged to have taken a Toyota picnic car from one Prophet Samuel Olugbemiga, under the guise of using it for commercial transportation after which he absconded.

“Abdulsalam was alleged to have impersonated a soldier to defraud Abdullahi Saheed of N700,000 and Ropo Gabriel to the tune of N96,000 having promised to help them secure admission into the Nigeria Defence Academy, Kaduna,” the statement read.

“He was alleged to have also falsely taken a Toyota Picnic car from one Prophet Samuel Olugbemiga for commercial transportation after which he absconded.”

He, however, said the suspect would be arraigned after an investigation.
