Niger State Police Arrest Suspect For Conspiracy, Attempted Homicide, Armed Robbery

In the course of the investigation, Zingfa was arrested along Maikunkele road, and he confessed to the crime.

Minna, Niger State– The Niger State Police Command has arrested a suspect identified as  Zingfa Nambon from the Gwagwalada area of Abuja for conspiracy, attempted homicide and armed robbery.

It was gathered that the suspect and a fleeing accomplice identified as Francis Moses boarded a commercial tricycle and on getting to a location, they pounced on the driver, tied him up and pushed him out before making away with his vehicle.

In a statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun,  said the suspect was arrested by police operatives attached to Bosso Division at about 1730hrs on May 22.

“Based on information received that on 3/5/2024 at about 1900hrs, a tricycle was boarded around Airport road, Maikunkele by two persons later identified as Zingfa Nambon and Francis Moses. On getting to a point along the Airport road, the two persons forcefully tied the tricyclist with a cable wire, with intent to kill him.

“The victim was pushed out of the tricycle and they made away with the tricycle. Zingfa said that the tricycle was taken to Abuja and Francis gave him four hundred thousand naira, as Francis disappeared to an unknown destination with the tricycle.

“In the course of the investigation, Zingfa was arrested along Maikunkele road, and he confessed to the crime.

“He was arrested with various blank tricycle receipts and cable wire. The suspect is under investigation and effort is being intensified to arrest Francis.”
