Niger State Police Arrest Man For Defiling Minor Girls, Lure Them With N50

The age of the girls ranges between 6 – 8 years, while he claimed that his reasons for the act were just for pleasure

Minna, Niger State -The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 30-year-old commercial tricycle rider, Abubakar Yakubu, for allegedly defiling minor girls aged between 6 and 8 years old in the Limawa area of Minna.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, January 12, 2024, said the suspect who confessed to the crime said he indulged in the act for pleasure because he could not talk to the mature ladies.

“On 2/1/2024 at about 1700hrs, based on information received, the Crack Squad arrested one Abubakar Yakubu 30yrs of Limawa area of Minna for being suspected of assaulting minor girls within the community sexually,” the statement read.

“During preliminary investigation, the suspect narrated that he was a tricycle rider and that he had been having carnal knowledge of two minor girls within the community, who he usually lured into his house with a token of fifty naira or one hundred naira since last year.

“He mentioned two other girls he attempted to have the same act with, including one of his relatives whom he had been trying to defile.

“The age of the girls ranges between 6 – 8 years, while he claimed that his reasons for the act were just for pleasure and that he could not talk to the mature ladies.

“The girls were taken for medical attention and undergoing counselling with relevant government agencies, as the suspect is under investigation and he will be arraigned in court as soon as possible.”
