Man Allegedly Stabs Girlfriend To Death In Edo
There were no missing body parts from the deceased.
Tragedy struck in Benin City, Edo State, as a young man reportedly stabbed his girlfriend to death.
The suspect in question, identified as Victor Ifakachukwu, has been arrested and hospitalized following a brutal knife attack that took place within his apartment.
The incident transpired at the address 10, Osahon Street, Ogheghe Quarters, located off Sapele Road in Benin City.
It’s reported that when the violence erupted, the couple secured themselves inside the house.
It was also gathered that the incident was reported to the police by his landlord, Mr. Emmanuel Momoh about 4 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Police recovered two blood-stained knives, one laptop, two iPhones, and one Nokia phone, from the apartment.
The suspect is being closely monitored at an undisclosed hospital, hoping to account for his crime whenever he regains consciousness.
SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, confirmed the incident stated that a comprehensive investigation has been initiated.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) mentioned that detectives will work to uncover the details of what occurred between the two individuals involved.
During the evacuation of the girl’s body, security personnel who were present reported that there were no missing body parts from the deceased.
“When we arrived at the house, Omo, blood was flowing like water, I believe they started stabbing themselves when a quarrel erupted between them.
“I suspect something went wrong and the girl fought back with her last power. When the boy regains consciousness, he will tell us how many of them were in the house and what actually happened,” they noted.
