Kwara NSCDC Arrests 6 Railway Vandals, ATM Fraudster

He allegedly withdrew the sum of One million, eight hundred thousands naira from the account.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command have arrested six suspects over the theft of railway line slippers at Oloru in Moro local government area of the state.

Confirming the arrest on Wednesday, the state Commandant of the Corps, Umar Mohammed, said that the suspects were apprehended by the personnel who were on night patrol.

The suspects are Yunusa Bello (41), Sanni Taminu (35), Sanusi Lawal (25), Alhaji Makeri (33), Lukman Sanni (32), and Olabode Johnson (41).

According to the commandant, the suspects were arrested with two trucks fully loaded with railway slippers at about 12am on Wednesday.

In another development, the commandant also paraded another suspect, Babatunde Adekunle (41), who was arrested for ATM fraud.

“Babatunde was alleged to have fraudulently swapped his ATM card with an old man at one of the ATM points in a bank. Having swapped the card, he allegedly withdrew the sum of One million, eight hundred thousands naira from the account.

“The case was reported, and the commandant mandated the tracking unit to arrest him within the shortest time.

“Commandant Umar appreciates the state government, the traditional rulers and the good people of Kwara state for their support and cooperation.

He, however, assured the public that the command will continue to work with other sister agencies so as to ensure safety of lives and property of Kwarans and Nigerians as a whole.
