AbdulRazaq Mourns Veteran Journalist, Issa Saliu
His mark as a journalist who contributed his bits to the advancement of free press and democratic
Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has described the death of a veteran journalist and Editor of Moonlight Newspaper Mallam Issa Saliu, as a great loss to the media industry and the country as a whole.
Mallam Issa died on Monday and has been buried according to Islamic rites.
The governor, in a condolence message issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday, described his death as a painful loss to all.
“I send our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and the media community, especially the state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, National League of Veteran Journalists, and the Moonlight newspaper. We take solace in the fact that he made his mark as a journalist who contributed his bits to the advancement of free press and democratic development,” the Governor said in a statement.
“I pray to Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings, admit him Aljanat Firdaus, and comfort all those he left behind, including his dear wife and children.
