Kidnappers Kill Herdsman After Rescuing Wife
Yunusa had earlier confronted the assailants when they abducted his wife, successfully rescuing her from their clutches.
Akure, Ondo State- Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have reportedly killed a Fulani herdsman, identified as Aliu Yunusa, near Ilu-Abo Junction in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Commander of the Ondo State Amotekun Corps, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, confirmed the incident, describing it as a tragic loss.
According to Adeleye, Yunusa had earlier confronted the assailants when they abducted his wife, successfully rescuing her from their clutches.
“Unfortunately, the kidnappers returned, overpowered him, and killed him while attempting to steal his cows,” Adeleye revealed.
He said, “A distress call was placed to the Amotekun Corps’ Ogbese outpost by fellow herdsmen who discovered Yunusa’s lifeless body at the scene.
“Upon arriving at the location, Amotekun officers found Yunusa’s body with multiple machete wounds.
“His motorcycle had also been set ablaze by the assailants.
“Our officers are combing the forest in search of these criminals,” Adeleye added.
