Kano Police Arrest 2 Civilians Wearing Military Uniforms

The suspect confessed to being a fake soldier and only wearing the uniform

Kano State Police Command has arrested two fake soldiers for allegedly using military uniforms to constitute a nuisance in the state.

The command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident on Thursday, July 6, said Abdulaziz Tanimu, and Sulaiman Abdulbaki, were arrested for constituting a nuisance and Disturbing public peace in the Sabon Gari area of the state.

“On 31/06/2023 at about 1900hrs, based on credible information received, a team of operatives arrested one Abdulaziz Tanimu, ‘m’, of Bachirawa Quarters and Sulaiman Abdulbaki, ’m’, of Garun Mallam LGA, Kano at Sabon Gari Quarters Kano wearing suspected Military Uniforms while constituting Nuisance and Disturbing public peace.

According to Kiyawa, the duo confessed that they are fake and only wearing Military uniforms. The case is under investigation.

“On 28/06/2023 at about 2245hrs, a distress call was received from a resident of Sabon Gari Quarters Kano that a suspected person wearing suspected Military uniform on board of Motorcycle was becoming Nuisance and Disturbing public peace at Sabon Gari,” the police boss stated.

“On receipt of the report, a team of detectives were detailed to the scene and arrested the suspect. The suspect confessed to being a fake soldier and only wearing the uniform. The case is under investigation.”
