Insecurity: Amotekun Sets Deadline For Installation Of CCTV In Ondo

The Ondo State Security Network codenamed Amotekun Corps has given August 1, 2022, as deadline for compliance on the Executive Order issued by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on installation of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras in public and private institutions
Commander of Ondo Amotekun Corps and Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Security Matters, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, in a statement yesterday said the Order was to show the Governor’s commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the state.

“Owners/proprietors of these premises are hereby enjoined to ensure the safety of all video recordings as any attempt to damage or manipulate such shall be liable to prosecution.
“The failure of any of the concerned operators/owners to comply with this directive will attract sanctions such indefinite closure and the owner (s) shall be prosecuted,” he said.
If, by August 1, these facilities do not have CCTV cameras installed on their premises, the Amotekun Corps would commence full enforcement, Adeleye said.
