INEC Promises Use Of BVAS In Governorship, State Assembly Elections

The deployment of BVAS has gone a long way to sanitise voter accreditation as can be seen from the result of recent elections.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, has assured Nigerians that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be used in the forthcoming governorship and state legislature elections.

Prof. Mahmood Yakubu gave the assurance on Saturday during a meeting with all Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) at the INEC headquarters in Abuja.

He confirmed that the BVAS machines are being worked on to avoid a repeat of the glitches recorded during the presidential and national assembly elections.
