Independence Day: Yakubu Gobir Felicitates With Nigerians, Charge Youths To Vote Wisely

As Nigerians, we should have the firm belief that a safer and more prosperous Nigeria

The Kwara State Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP, in the forthcoming 2023 election, Alhaji Yakubu Waziri Gobir has sent a goodwill message to Nigerians on the occasion of the 62nd independence celebration.

In his congratulatory message, the Madawaki of Ilorin and Waziri of Hausaland charged Nigerians to vote wisely and reject mediocrity in the 2023 general elections.

He said “As Nigerians, we should have the firm belief that a safer and more prosperous Nigeria for all, where our youth are gainfully employed, is possible.”

“However, to achieve that we need a paradigm shift. We as a people must begin to strive for excellence, and no longer settle for mediocrity. We must demand this of our leaders, or replace them with people whom striving for excellence is a habit.”

He further said “The difference between leaders who strive for excellence and those who settle for mediocrity, is while mediocre leaders depend on external pressure or motivation to perform, leaders who value excellence draw from internal motivation and drive. They do not wait for, or depend on situations or people to be productive.”
