According to a member of the vigilante group, the attack was more of a revenge mission as the bandits had earlier accused Nabanje of being responsible for the destruction of their enclaves.

“The hoodlums arrived in the community in a large numbers and proceeded to the residence of our vigilante commander. They blocked all routes to avoid him from escaping. After a painstaking search, they found him under a tree where they engaged him in a gun duel until he ran out of ammunition and was rounded up when he sought refuge in a compound where he was butchered.”

In another development, bandits kidnapped the Secretary of Miyetti Allah in Faskari Local Government Area of the state, Malam Wada Yau and his wife.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq, who confirmed the incident said the report got to the police late due to downpour and poor network experienced on the day of the attack.
