Gunmen Ambush, Kill Two Immigration Officers In Kebbi

The suspected bandits carried out an attack on the gallant officers at the entry point in Gari Garba

Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State– Two immigration officers were shot dead by unidentified gunmen at the Kangiwa border,  Arewa local government area of Kebbi State.

In a statement released by DSI Abdullahi Isah, the Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, said that suspected bandits carried out an attack on the gallant officers at the entry point in Gari Garba, located 12 kilometres away from Kangiwa town.

The deceased have been identified as Isah Nafui (DSI 34057) and Garba Haruna Fana (NIS 17796), both officers have been laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites.

He said that while the command mourns the deaths of the gallant officers, an investigation has been launched to nip in the bud the perpetrators of the dastardly act.

He added that the unprovoked attack and killing of the gallant officers would not distract them from their official duties of effectively manning the borders to ward off criminal elements.
