Gunmen Abduct Two Catholic Priests In Delta

The two clergymen later went to see another priest around Agbara-Otor and were abducted on their way back.

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted two Catholic priests Reverend Father Chochos Kunav and his colleague Rev Father Raphael Ogigba, in Agbara-Otor area of Ughelli North Local Government in Delta State.

In a statement on Sunday by the spokesperson for the Delta State police command, Edafe Bright, said it is on the trail of the kidnappers who abducted priests.

According to him, the clerics were abducted at the Agbara-Otor road on Saturday night while on their way to Ughelli.

Het said the command has been proactively handling the abduction to ensure they are released unharmed.

A brief communique issued by Very Rev Father Okereke Kizito, notes that one of the hostages, Father Chochos works in Ibadan and was on a visit to his colleague of the Catholic diocese of Warri.

The two clergymen later went to see another priest around Agbara-Otor and were abducted on their way back.

At the time of filing this report, it still was not clear if the kidnappers have reached out and if any demands have been made.
